WHELAN ASSOCIATES SELLS HISTORIC WATERFRONT BUILDING FOR $3.6 MILLION

Whelan Associates, LLC has finalized the sale of Bourne Counting House in New Bedford, MA

New Bedford, MA --- October 27, 2008--- Whelan Associates, LLC is proud to announce the sale of Bourne Counting House, one of the company’s professional office buildings in New Bedford, MA. The building was purchased by a private investor for $3.6 million or $200 per square foot.

Bourne Counting House, located on the New Bedford waterfront at One Merrills Wharf, is one of several properties managed by Whelan Associates. The 18,000 square foot building, completely renovated in 2002, is 100% leased. The major tenants of the building include Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan and Overlook Visiting Nurse Association.

Other Whelan Associates developments in downtown New Bedford include Union Square Office Centre, a 40,000 square foot professional office building located at 174 Union Street, and Bank Plaza, an 80,000 sf professional office building located at 700 Pleasant Street.

The sale of Bourne Counting House was brokered by Rick Barnes, Vice President of Capital Markets for Whelan Associates.
